It is our pleasure to present the ActionAid Sierra Leone Annual Report 2025, a reflection of a year marked by both significant challenges and remarkable resilience. Throughout 2025, communities across Sierra Leone continued to navigate the impacts of economic uncertainty, climate-related shocks, barriers to quality education, and persistent inequalities affecting women, young people, and marginalized groups. While these challenges tested the resilience of many households, they also revealed the strength, determination, and collective power of communities working to create lasting change.
Across the country, women strengthened their voices and leadership, young people championed accountability and climate action, children gained greater opportunities to learn and thrive, and communities mobilized to improve their livelihoods and protect their rights. These achievements were not realized by ActionAid Sierra Leone alone. They were made possible through the commitment of local partners, community-based organizations, government institutions, supporters, and the countless individuals who continue to drive change within their own communities.
Guided by our commitment to social justice, gender equality, and human rights, ActionAid Sierra Leone continued to work alongside communities to address the root causes of poverty and exclusion. Through programmes focused on education, women's rights, youth empowerment, governance, climate resilience, health, and sustainable livelihoods, we supported people to claim their rights, strengthen their resilience, and shape the decisions that affect their lives.
This report celebrates the people, partnerships, and collective actions that made progress possible throughout 2025. It highlights key achievements, lessons learned, and stories of transformation from across our areas of work. As we reflect on the year, we extend our sincere gratitude to our staff, partners, supporters, donors, and the communities we serve. Your continued trust, collaboration, and belief in collective action make this work possible. Together, we remain committed to building a more just, equitable, and resilient Sierra Leone for all.
